One of the first things we must do to start interacting in the world of cryptocurrencies is learning how to create a wallet on Metamask. In this tutorial, we teach you step by step how to create your own wallet in a simple, fast, and secure way.
Create your Metamask wallet step by step
Installing Metamask and creating your wallet is very simple, just follow these steps:
1️⃣ Enter the Metamask website: https://metamask.io/
2️⃣ Select Download now and Install Metamask in your browser (available for Chrome, Firefox, Brave, and Edge).
3️⃣ Add the extension to your browser.
4️⃣ Once it downloads, tap on Get Started.
5️⃣ Click on Create Wallet if you want to create a new wallet (Otherwise, if you want to restore an old wallet, tap on the Import Wallet option and use your 12 seed phrase).
6️⃣ Accept or reject Metamask’s information collection terms (Metamask does not collect any confidential data).
7️⃣ Create a secure password of a minimum of 8 characters and click accept (YOU CANNOT LOSE OR FORGET IT because it cannot be retrieved through Metamask support. ONLY YOU have it).
8️⃣ Click on the box to have Metamask reveal your recovery phrase. It consists of 12 words and is used to restore your wallet, in case you lose access to your computer. NEVER reveal your seed words to ANYONE. (Write this phrase on a piece of paper and store it in a secure location).
9️⃣ Tap on Next and Confirm your security words by selecting them in the same order they were given to you (check on the piece of paper you wrote them on before).
🔟 Congratulations! You have now created your Metamask wallet.
